Assessment Packages

Education Heath Care Plan Assessment: If the child needs an EHCP or reassessment

Choose this option if:
a) your child has an EHCP* but hasn’t been recently reassessed (in the last 12 months)
OR
b) if you are looking to get your child an EHCP

* An EHCP is an Education Health and Care Plan, which is a legal document about a child’s needs issued by a Local Authority. It requires a detailed assessment and more lengthy report.

This package will:
Give you a clear picture of what the child/young person needs. We’ll provide you with a detailed understanding of their SLCN and areas that need support.
We’ll suggest specific ways to support them. You’ll get practical strategies and tailored recommendations.
This includes time for us to talk. We know how important it is to work together, so we’ve set aside time to chat directly with you or other school staff/professionals.
We will assess the child/young person where they are comfortable. We can carry out assessments at home or in their setting.
We will provide a detailed report for EHCPs. You’ll receive clear feedback after the assessment, followed by a very thorough report. This report contains all the essential information and is formatted to meet all the requirements for the EHCP process.

What’s included:
Face-to-Face Assessment which may include observations within their school/setting.
Time for liaison with School/Professionals and dedicated time for liaison with parents/carers.
A comprehensive and detailed report.
Minor report amendments

a) your child has a recently issued EHCP* and SALT assessment within the last 12 months, so doesn’t need an in-depth assessment/report
OR
b) for a standard assessment where no EHCP is involved

We understand that many children and young people arrive with existing assessment data and historical reports. We will carefully review and use information from previous assessments, as well as carry out our own to ensure everyone understands what the child/young person needs now.
Suggest next steps -You’ll get clear idea of what is needed to get started and achieve the best outcomes.
Include time to speak with parents and answer questions.

What’s included:
Up to 2 hours face-to-face assessment
Up to 1 hour time for liaison with parents/staff – We’ll spend time communicating directly with you so you understand the outcome of the assessment and what the next steps are.

An in depth assessment carried out at home or in their setting.
A detailed report for EHCPs. You’ll receive clear feedback after the assessment, followed by a very thorough report. This report contains all the essential information and is formatted to meet all the requirements for the EHCP process.
Begin intervention straight away once the assessment is completed.

Face-to-Face Assessment: At least 2 sessions for assessment which may include observations within their school/setting and at home.
Time for liaison: With School/Professionals and dedicated time for liaison with parents/carers.

2 intervention sessions: Once the assessment is completed we will get started with intervention straight away. This can include:
direct intervention with the child/young person, demonstration and coaching or trialing therapy approaches.
Total package time 12 hours to be delivered across the term.

Initial Assessment & Weekly Intervention: : If you want to start intervention straight away following assessment

Choose this option if you would like to start intervention straight away:

You will need an initial assessment if:
a) your child has a recently issued EHCP* and SALT assessment within the last 12 months, so doesn’t need an in-depth assessment/report
OR
b) for a standard assessment where no EHCP is involved

An initial assessment is a crucial first step before beginning speech therapy because it allows us to gain a clear picture of your child’s specific strengths/needs to ensure our intervention targets your child/young person’s individual needs. This is needed even if they already have recommendations in their EHCP, to ensure that our therapy is effective, giving you the best possible outcomes.

Add ons

Review Assessment and Report: If the child/young person is receiving/has already received one of our therapy packages

Choose this package if the child/young person is receiving/has already received, one of our therapy packages. You can also use this option if you require a review assessment and report prior to the child’s annual EHCP review.

This package will:

Assess the child/young person’s current progress to ensure the ongoing support they receive remains appropriate and effective.
Provide direct assessment and observation: Our therapist will dedicate time to directly observe and assess the child/young person’s current communication skills.
Include dedicated time for liaison with key educational staff and parents/carers.
Provide you with a written summary report. This document will comprehensively outline the child/young person’s progress to date and give clear recommendations for future steps and interventions.

What’s Included:
Up to 1 hour Face-to-Face Assessment: Direct clinical assessment time with the child/young person.
Liaison with Parents/Staff: Dedicated time for direct communication to discuss assessment outcomes, progress, and recommendations.
Written Summary Report

This is a brief summary designed to provide you with all the essential information in a clear and accessible format.
Current Communication Profile: This section will clearly explain the child/young person’s current communication strengths and identify specific areas requiring support. This may include receptive and expressive language skills, articulation/phonology, and social communication.
Recommendations and Next Steps: Including suggestions for intervention and therapy approaches.

Or, you would like a therapy programme to give guidance on the goals of intervention and how to support your child with this.

Annual Review/Medium Detail Report: A report only for a child we have seen recently or regularly

This is for a report only.

Choose this option if there will be an upcoming Annual Review where you will need a report to update needs and recommend future provision, or if you need a medium detail report for any other reason.

NB This is for a report only. If you also need a review assessment, please select the “Review Assessment” package instead as this also includes a report. Your Speech and Language Therapist can advise you on whether you need a review assessment, but typically if we haven’t assessed the child in the previous 3 months we would most likely need to do some reassessment.

We’ll provide an update on your child/young person’s current communication strengths and progress based on our recent support. This will review their progress in relation to the aims of their support or intervention.
Recommendations and Next Steps: We’ll provide practical recommendations for what is needed going forwards. This is especially important if you have an EHCP as we’ll need to confirm or alter the ongoing provision depending on progress and needs.

Total package time: 2 hours 30 minutes

Bespoke Resource Provision: Activity packs, communication boards, personalised visuals and more

All our packages include standard printable resources, such as activity packs or generic communication boards.
However, should a child/young person require bespoke communication materials (e.g. individualised communication books, personalised visuals), the time dedicated to producing these specialised resources will be charged at our offsite hourly rate. Please be assured that this will be discussed with you in advance, and an estimate will be provided.

Liaison with other Professionals: Liaison with others involved in the child's care

All our packages include dedicated time for liaison with educational staff and parents/carers.
However, in instances where additional professionals are involved in the child/young person’s care, or where more collaboration is needed, additional liaison time may be necessary. This will be charged at our standard hourly rate, depending on the location (on-site or off-site). This will always be discussed and agreed with you in advance.

Attendance at Meetings: e.g. Annual Review, TAC, MDT

We can attend a one off meeting or more regularly depending on what is needed. Time to attend meetings will be charged at our hourly rate depending on the location (onsite/offsite).

Additional Amendment to EHCP Report: Explaining the support the child/young person needs

Getting a report right is incredibly important. While our EHCP report packages include time for one amendment sometimes more might be needed. If we need extra time for these changes, we’ll charge our offsite hourly rate.

Bespoke Training: Training focused entirely on the child's communication needs

In addition to our online, on-demand training hubs, our highly trained Speech and Language Therapists can create and deliver custom training sessions focused on the child/young person’s specific needs or communication strategies.

Bespoke training will be charged at our onsite/offsite hourly rate.
Please note that time charged will include writing of the training session(s).

Therapy for Existing Clients Only

1:1 Weekly Intervention Existing Clients Only

There is a 5% discount for any subsequent blocks of therapy, booked at least 4 weeks in advance of the end of the existing block. If you do not confirm that you’d like to continue at least 2 weeks before the end of the existing block then we cannot guarantee your slot for the following term and you may have to go back on our waiting list for more intervention.

This package will:
Be delivered by highly trained Speech and Language Therapist (SALT). Our therapists bring expert knowledge and skills to ensure intervention is individualised, evidence-based and tailored to the specific needs of each child or young person.
Offer flexible session locations. Therapy sessions can be in the home or setting (school/nursery/college).
Support the development of a communication-friendly environment- we recognise how important the environment is in facilitating communication, so all our therapy packages include dedicated time to collaborate with you and/or the child/young person’s family.
Include dedicated time for liaison. Regular communication is key to integrated support. We include time to liaise with you & families to ensure every one has the information they need at the right time.

Our team of SALTs are trained to deliver a wide range of therapy interventions. In addition to direct 1:1 intervention with the child/young person, we may also recommend coaching. In these sessions, our therapists will guide and equip staff and/or parents with the knowledge, strategies, and confidence to integrate speech and language development support into daily routines or to effectively carry out specific interventions.

What’s included:
10 weekly 1 hour intervention sessions per term. In these sessions your SALT has the flexibility to deliver direct intervention, provide coaching, and/or offer support directly within the classroom or setting environment or practical strategies to develop the communication environment depending on what is needed.

Up to 2 hours for liaison (total across the term). This time is allocated for direct communication with parents/carers and/or the child’s school/setting. This ensures we have time to monitor progress, share what works and resources.

Up to 2 hours for liaison (total across the term) – we’ll spend time communicating directly so that you and/or your child’s school/setting so you can keep track of progress and we can share strategies and resources which will support your child/young person’s progress.
